video — [ preview ]
Oct. 6th, 2024 07:06 pm[ Connecting through the video feed seems the easiest and most direct way of relaying any important information that might bring the lot of them closer to discovering the killer (or killers), and so Edwin's face appears on screen.
He looks impassive and composed, like he's done something like this on many, many an occasion — and that would be because he has. He's even situated in what looks vaguely like an office setting, behind a desk with his notebook before him. ]
Right. Well, I won't delay the results of my investigations into three of the six deaths, and I've also enlisted the help of two others, Eunhyuk and Hyunsu, to carry on with the rest of the sites as time is, in fact, of the essence here. Their notes are with me as well.
[ And he is but one detective without his agency, his proper tools, his proper books, and his partner.
Sigh.
But a detective does what he must and while he isn't so outwardly obvious about it, he is quite grateful for the other two men to have volunteered. Especially when one of his own investigations hadn't gone quite to plan. ]
Firstly, I shall speak on Grace Le Domas: following her place of death, there are signs of obvious struggle as she was dragged towards the forest. She had been left in a bit of brush. Whoever — or in this case, as I suspect — whatever killed her did not think to clean up the mess. It was rather gruesome. I hesitate to claim it was an animal, but I don't see much evidence that points to the contrary, particularly in conjunction with Miss Baxter and Doctor House's autopsy report.
On the matter of Saxsice King's death, I found it quite the opposite. She was found stuffed into an alcove of the mansion. It was too clean, done with skill and precision, and the trail was rather difficult to follow though I am inclined to believe that because of the nature of the clean-up, we are certainly dealing with a much more intelligent murderer and not an animal.
Finally, I am rather frustrated to report that by the time I made it up to Erik Lehnsherr's bedchambers, the housekeeping in their efficiency, had hastily cleaned up the mess, though why they would think to erase a crime scene before proper evidence has been collected and investigations have been taken is quite beyond me.
[ He sniffs, properly agitated by it.
It's absolute baffoon behaviour, really. ]
He was supposedly found in bed, possibly poisoned by some substance as it is reported that there was a 'foamy spit caked on the sides of his mouth' as well as on his pillow. Again, if we're to reference the autopsy report, this aligns with the state of his body, which doesn't tell us much about his killer just yet, only that there were ... possible recreational substances involved.
[ He has no knowledge of such things though, so.
There's the sound of a slip of paper being unfolded (#ASMR) before Edwin continues to speak again, eyes cast down and focused on the print. Eunhyuk's notes are printed neatly and are easy to read, while his partner Hyunsu's handwriting leaves a little bit to be desired. Thankfully they're mostly side-bar notes. ]
Regarding Rhaenyra Targaryen's death, there was 'disturbed gravel in the maze, pointing to signs of struggle. Blood spatter points to Rhaenyra continuing to fight even after having her throat cut.' Side note: 'lots of blood, two foot trails present, one leading to Alina's location, and one to Rhaenyra's location.'
Parisa Kamali: 'drag marks on the ground, leading from stone alcove to the front lawn.' Ah. Possibly to move her body post-mortem. 'No signs of struggle' and the draining appears to be consensual. 'Was she—' Oh. Well. [ Edwin clears his throat. ] Yes, it's possible she may have been intimately involved with a vampire.
And lastly — [ Edwin pauses again, reading the last listed name. ] Jacaerys Velaryon. Eunhyuk reports that there were 'two footprints leading up to the lake.' One foot was booted, and one was bare. There were also 'no signs of struggle, no hesitation in the footsteps' and evidence to confirm that he 'went into the water willingly.' Hyunsu notes that one of his shoes was not present at the scene, including the depths of the lake.
[ Edwin folds up the paper and turns his gaze back towards his screen with a nod. ]
Well done, you two. And with this we are still left with a number of questions but perhaps there might be something within our investigations to begin narrowing down the possible killers in this grim tale and cease pointing fingers at each other so needlessly.
I shall continue looking into this until we have solved their murders. Thank you for your time.
[ And then, without further comment, the feed switches off. ]
